Frequently
Asked Questions
(Q) How did Treemember.com start? (A) Treemember.com began in 2001 to help restore public lands near Evergreen, Colorado, burned in a disastrous forest fire. To make tree and wild flower restoration a permanent project, we began distributing cards and certificates through select florists and funeral directors. Now we have turned to the internet to make our services available to people internationally who share our belief that living gifts are superior to throwaway gifts. (Q) Can I find individual trees or fields of flowers if I visit? (A) Treemember commissions the planting
of many trees in many areas. We cannot identify individual trees. In some
areas (private) we offer the placement of permanent brass cap type markers
with the name of the donor and the recipient for an additional fee of
$99.95. (Q) Where do you plant flowers? (A) Native wildflower seeds are selected by experts and hand sown in areas of the Colorado Rockies damaged by fire, drought, insects, man, or grazing animals. Because we plant so many seeds, individual plots cannot be identified. (Q) Can I be certain that my tree or flowers will grow? (A) We check every planted area at
least semi-annually. Often, supplemental water, nutrients, and natural
repellants are needed to discourage grazing animals and to ensure survival
of a maximum number of seedlings. All areas are over planted and replanted
if necessary to ensure that all our commissioned trees and flowers survive
in numbers greater than ordered. (Q)
